The China Clipper Inn Bed and Breakfast offers luxurious lodging accommodations in the heart of beautiful Ouray, CO, otherwise known as the Switzerland of America. The China Clipper Inn was custom designed as an Inn featuring classic details, quality, comfort and privacy. Twelve rooms, and one new apartment on the lower level, are available to guests, each providing elegant and luxurious lodging accommodations. Built from scratch by Earl Yarbrough, a Navy Commander and avid maritime enthusiast, in the 1990's and opened in 1995, the China Clipper Inn, was designed to emulate it's Victorian, historic neighbors and retain the architectural vintage and character of the town. Most of the rooms are named after famous Clipper ships. With fine mountain views from most rooms, the China Clipper Inn offers all the intimate amenities of an inn and the conveniences and privacy of a fine hotel. The Inn was recently (March 2022) voted the Best BNB in the state of Colorado by Wall Street and has also been voted the Best BNB in Ouray County for 2022 and 2020 (no voting took place in 2021). One of the things that makes it so special is it has something for every type of guest and each room is unique and different. There are 7 different room types to choose from, some having fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and there is even a garden area with a hot tub for general use. The Inn has 2 lovely common areas with fireplaces and a library, and a strikingly elegant dining room, complete with a walk out glass patio for dining. The Inn has an excellent location being 1 block from Main Street and walking distance to all Ouray's unique shops, restaurants, hiking trails, hot springs, Via Ferrata, Ice Park, and so much more. In the winter months, the China Clipper has been said to resemble a Hallmark movie with its romantic, magical architecture up against the snow. Ouray was voted the Outdoor Recreation Capital of Colorado so it is truly a year round adventure for tourists. It is also close to skiing in Telluride and Durango, and has crosscountry skiing right in the area, along with snow shoeing and ice skating. The Inn is currently owner operated and is projecting a 10% cap rate for 2022 - all while allowing the owners to close the Inn approximately 4 months of the year for personal time and vacations. In addition, the current owners have shown a 25% growth in revenue since 2019. The Inn comes turnkey with few exclusions. The wonderful owners' quarters is approximately 900 square feet with 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Living Room, Dining Room, and large kitchen. It has all been updated by the current owners, along with the new apartment which is now added to the room inventory.
